Depending on how far back your DUI was, you'll have to get the very high insurance known as SR22 to drive again in Alaska.

Technically, that's true. I could apply for deemed rehabilitation (thanks O'Canada)) and probably get it. Frequently asked questions: Overcoming criminal inadmissibility (http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/visit/faq-inadmissibility.asp#note5 - broken link)

However, I'd never drive to Alaska. I'm not big on flying, but there's no way I'd want to drive some 4500 miles. I'm sure its a very pretty drive, but too long and laborious for me.

I wonder if they'd stop Dubya from driving around in Canada?

On your application, just list all of us as character references. We'll hook you right up!

If I were to list folks on the Alaska forum as character references, I really believe that would land me in a place like Bellevue where people are crazy all the time.

So I'll have to decline your offer, Mr. Moose.
