I voted for Talkeetna, based on second hand experience of looking at pictures and talking about it...but I fully intend on checking it out while we are there this summer! And Dusty I am from NJ about 5 miles from Philly and we try the "Philly Cheesesteak" anytime we visit somewhere so I will be putting that to the test! (And here we just call it a cheesesteak!)

America's Coolest Small Towns - Budget Travel
My brother actually stayed in Talkeetna for about a month this summer on a photography internship. Fairbanks was his favorite, but he really liked Talkeetna and the people that live there. He's planning on coming back after the holidays. Be on the lookout for a skinny, tight-pants wearin', bearded guy.

Cedar Key is on the West side of the Florida Peninsular stuck out in the water sorta by itself. The best thing about it is the Yankees haven't found it so when you drive all the way out that dead end road almost the only people there are the locals who are mostly fisherpeople. There isn't a franchise store in town, no red lights, and you can't walk very far in any direction without being on the shoreline. The Gulf breezes keep it reasonable all year never too hot nor too cold. I'm sitting here in Anchorage watching the snow fall at single digit temps wondering how long it would take to get where a tee shirt would be the right attire in the sunshine.

I voted, but Talkeetna doesn't appear to be doing very well.

The Moose Dropping Festival was one of the most fun times I have ever had in all the time I spent in Alaska.

Somehow I have very little difficulty believing that, toward the end of December, you are seeing snowfall in Anchorage, I'm in N. Carolina and we got 4 inches of snow yesterday, down here----that is downright bizarre.

Talkeetna's doing okay for as small and unknown as it is.

It would be cool to see some of your brother's photographs of the area, Milleka.

This one is a blog and contains all aspects of his life. He has been in NYC for the last three months on a temp job for Levi's. You have to go back a few pages to find his Alaska stuff.
Kris Payne

This one highlights photos from some of his favorite places over the last few years. There's a lot of the Kenai Fjords.

This one is an etsy shop where he sells a lot of his photos.

Send your request to Joe Miller. He likes voting in online polls! He'll be able to round up a few hundred votes...all by himself!

Keep voting...Talkeetna's in the top 10 now Ok, so it's #10 but still not bad for being so small.
