Wouldn't ya just know it, all the photos we took of Talkeetna were actually on film, yeah, the old fashioned type of camera, well.....it was a few years ago. Our rent-a-wreck got a flat tire in Talkeetna and one shop owner closed down and drove me, and the flat tire, out to that garage on the highway and got the tire fixed, drove me back, helped me put the tire on and would not take anything for the aid. Soooooooo, we had a list, you know that list, stuff that people want you to bring back from Alaska for them, well we got all of our stuff at this guys store, I think it is the first one on the right coming into town. We picked up t-shirts, hats, all sorts of little knick knacks (still sorry I didn't get one of those old Alaska license plates for the front of my truck, N.C. only uses a back license plate). Anyway, when we brought our haul up to the cashiers desk, the guy rang it all up, then took off 20%.
