Any of you enjoying the bountiful Copper River/PWS season so far? With the catch expected to be almost double last year's disappointing run, predictions are high for 2011... expecting a dock value of > $1 billion statewide.

How much are they asking per pound this year in the local markets? Not that I'll be buying any

I saw $5.99/lb for the whole fish at Costco this week. Was in Seattle recently and the restaurant we were in couldn't wait to get some. They were going to charge $48/plate.

They're hitting the fish wheels already. We'll check ours Saturday on our way back from Anchorage.

Are those Kings or Reds?

My smoked King is pulling in $37 per pound just now.

I think New Sagaya was going $6.99 a pound for Reds, the whole fish.
Not sure about Costco.

The price of Copper River Reds is way down everywhere. You can even find it for $4.99 in some places. It varies pretty widely though; some places still have it somewhere between 20-25 a pound.
