I know you're busy with last minute preps but what are your departing thoughts? I'll miss your photos, you'll have to post some of Michigan.

I think Ed will keep going with photography. He's very talented that way.

Hope you have a good trip. The weather here around NYC has been at or near 100 for days now. They're frying eggs on the sidewalks but no one is eating them.. I hear from Chi town it the same out west as well.

What are you doing in NYC, did you move?

Hmm, departing thoughts. For one, I've met some great people up here, most if not all have been living here for quite some time. Others, well, I wont go into that.

There has been great times here, and some not so great, my divorce.
I knew I'd be doing lots of hiking while here, but never did I imagine climbing the mountains that I have. There is so much more I want to do and see, guess another time eh.

My feels are all across the board, sorrow that I'm leaving AK, happy that I have a great job waiting for me in MI and that they busted their butts to get me back there. I'll be joyed to be around the icy fresh waters of Lake Superior. The past few days I've been keeping myself very busy to help keep my mind off things, it's not easy though. I'm sure the drive out the Glenn will be a tough one, beautiful, but sad at the same time. Am I rambling yet?

Looking forward to driving the Alcan down, took the ferry up, and taking loads of photos on the way. Speaking of photos, I have hundreds that I haven't processed yet from the past few years here. So, I will continue posting in this great, fun forum. And yes, pop into the Michigan photo forum, I'm sure to be putting some up there.

I'm sure more will come to mind in my final couple days. Leaving Tuesday.

Thank you all

Now to enjoy an Alaskan Barley Wine.. Yummm

Best wishes to you and your future Nephler... I was only in AK for 25 days but on the way to the airport I started to tear up.. I can't imagine what you must be feeling... everything in life happens for a reason and yes at times I really have a hard time with that one but that is what I believe.

No one can take those memories away but knowing you, by the wonderful pictures you take, you will create new and better ones. What's life without great adventures right?

I've been in your shoes Ed, and leaving Alaska was the hardest thing I've ever had to do. I've enjoyed your photographs immensly so please keep posting, I'll never tire. And remember, I'm almost right on your way across northern WI. If you would want an emergency phone number, just shoot me a PM. I'd love to meet up with you someday and do a hike along the great Lake Superior. I'm not that far away.

Drive safe....
