When I was working in Alaska at Chalet Denali National Park year 2009. That same year someone in another state besides Florida filed income tax return with my social security number. I got letter from Walt Disney World about garnishing wages for the $1,082 amount owed. I R S in Ocala, Florida today took care of the situation. I R S took action and I am free and clear with Disney paychecks. Investigation is underway and they could not say who did the theft but they know from the filed out of state address. So everything is ok back to normal..

Agreed. Glad you got it fixed dude. Some people take years to recover from identity theft.

A few years back somebody flew first class to Bora Bora courtesy of my Visa card. My bank was resistant to fixing it until I explained to them that if I couldn't get it back, I'd assign a reasonable dollar amount to my time, then spend the next several months visiting the bank daily playing the part of the loud, irate customer. Strangely enough, they produced the funds soon after.
