Forties can be a bit cold for me too if it's rainy or I'm dressed all wrong. Do you ever find it hard to remember when certain things happened because the weather is so similar year-round? I have that problem with a lot of my memories from when I lived in Florida. The monotony got to me a bit down there, though I wouldn't mind it for a month or two a year...maybe November and December.

not really, but I am used to no seasons. I just do not like the heat, it keeps me trapped indoors a lot.
I am sure in Tampa you experienced the piercing cold because of the humidity. Miami at 40 feels colder than Michigan at 20 did.
