Anyone know of welding jobs in the Juneau/Sitka area? I have spent the last 10 years in heavy industrial, but now I am looking to move on to light gauge (preferably in TIG) work. I recently returned home to South Dakota from a week long vacation, and decided the "mild climate" of southeast Alaska may be the ideal spot to relocate. I am not married and have no children, so it would only be myself. I am skilled in mild steel, aluminum, and stainless. Thank you for the input!
There is a big time dam project going on up here thru Barnard Construction in Sitka. The only contact listed in the paper is Desiree.Brandis@Barnard-Inc.com. I think the outfit is out of Montana. I know a carpenter that is working on it and went and had some beers with iron workers over the weekend. I am not a construction guy but hope that helps!
