What's the background on the officer shooting the fire chief?

Reports say that he pointed a gun at a police officer. That never turns out well.

I read the latest ADN article that said a domestic disturbance and he pointed a shotgun at the responding officers.

It will be a justified shooting. Unfortunately the rest of the aftermathbe good. From the people I've talked with the deceased was a good guy. Really good. Sadly alcohol probably got the best of him. I think every police officer involved shooting in the North Slope Borough in the last 35 years was brought about by alcohol.

That is really sad. I hate it for his family... it will be really tough for them.
