Wrong. For it to be in the 90s and 100% humidity, the dewpoint would also have to be in the 90s. This is never the case.

Is it oppressively humid in Florida? At times, yes. But you are using hyperbole which is no better than me asking why would you want to live in a place that is 100 below zero when it has in fact never been that cold in Alaska.

Exactly. Northern Pennsylvania killed me in the summer...and southern Minnesota too. Too humid and too hot. I seriously don't think I could live any farther south than maybe...Wrangell or Petersburg!

It can get that way almost any place south of the Mason Dixon line.

Evening all!

I've only been to Alaska in wintertime but have lived in neighboring Yukon Territory too. It isn't difficult to acclimatize to a new environment; it just takes time.

When we lived in Aspen (at approx. 10,000 feet), it took three months for our hemoglobin to accrue enough red blood cells for adequate oxygenation. After that, we might just as well have been at sea level (experientially).

The most challenging place I've lived in globally was Jerusalem. We decided to go camping one hot day in July, thinking it would be good to be out outdoors and near water, but our Kelty Expedition tent (the model that successfully braved Mount Everest) melted in the 140-degree heat after only a day. That was... interesting, LOL!

India will meet your 90+ degrees w/100% humidity challenge in many locations, as will Paraguay and the Amazon basin.

I've found that with a little time and patience, healthy people can adjust to just about anywhere on God's green Earth.

Cheers,

Mahrie.

many parts of Arkansas & Oklahoma will approach that in the summer. It's literally hell on earth.

What a beautiful picture, warptman!

I remember a night, much like that, and it inspired this song:

The Eyes of an Innocent

Northern lights dancing
Like a blue ribbon of flame
Pink and purple
Never twice the same
Tall trees swaying
In the north of 60 wind
Snow and ice still stretched out across the land

These things intrigue me
Make life worthwhile
Like the eyes of an innocent
And Paul Simon's smile....

These days of darkness
Soon coming to an end
Sunshine returning
A warm and welcome friend
Moon kissed black water
Sings a lullaby to me
Life still imprisoned
Impatient to be free

These things intrigue me
Make life worthwhile
Like the eyes of an innocent
And Paul Simon's smile....

Astronauts dancing
Playing games upon the moon
The sweet nostalgia
Of a long-forgotten tune
Like the New York City Skyline
Or San Francisco Bay
My Scottish homeland
A million miles away

These things intrigue me
Make life worthwhile
Like the eyes of an innocent
And Paul Simon's smile....

Northern lights dancing....

Mahrie.
