Be careful who you fly with, its sad when someone comes up to Alaska for the first time and dies in a sight seeing ride.
Yeah, happened twice in Ketchikan last summer. What appalled me though was seeing a post on that godawful Cruise Critic bored (spelling quite intentional) by someone if they could fudge on the weight restrictions; i.e., would the flight service take their word concerning what they weighed. Apparently someone didn't want a friend to be subject to embarrassment by divulging his real weight. This question was specific to Ketchikan flights, btw.
Diamonds International is all over the Caribbean. They follow the ships like carrion birds.
Diamonds International is owned by Carnival Cruise Lines if I remember correctly. Its strange that you travel a great distance to buy a diamond that you could buy anywhere in the lower 48 for less money than you could through them. Alaskan Tanzanite though...

I've actually had to limit my activities like the cool zipline that warpt posted because of the weight restrictions. I've noticed that tour operators make heavy people pay for 2 seats. I don't have a problem with that, but I'm thinking that there are going to be a lot of planes & helicopters flying around during the summer & the chances for a mid air collision or close encounter with stationary objects are going to be higher than I care to risk.
I can do that stuff another time.
I dont know if they will be offered again this summer, but last summer Pro-Mech air offered a flightseeing trip out of Skagway in Twotters. They had big bubble windows for viewing and everything.
The problem with flightseeing with just about every fixed wing operator in SE is the low wings on aircraft
One of the operators in the Glacier Bay area, I think it is Mountain Flightseeing or something like that (the guy's name is Paul), he is based out of Haines and has a high wing plane.
But yeah...weight and balance issues on those smaller planes are a big deal, and rightfully so.

You mean Small Paul
He wrecked his last plane last fall I think, and now has a new one
This is the type of plane he has now:
