Rance,

Pretty much what I saw. A little overhead and north, then a little in the south. Did see a nice wispy cloudylike v-shaped light across the moon, then a few minutes later another wispy band across the dipper. The best one I think was very much like your picture at about 2:30 or so - might be the same one. Quite a bit south and west. Nice picture by the way. I've been checking about every half hour or so, saw a bunch except for when I looked a bit after 1am. But all very weak.

However I did get to see a quick meteor. I definitely saw a plane going west then south.

This evening I got to see a great arctic sunset over the ice.

But now I'm finding it hard to keep awake. About time for bed. I know it's time to sleep - I just read one of my sentences and the words were quite a bit out of order.

'nite.

AURORA WATCH: Sky watchers around the Arctic Circle should be alert for Northern Lights. A solar wind stream is heading for Earth, and NOAA forecasters estimate a 20% chance of high-latitude geomagnetic activity when it hits on March 3rd or 4th.

I was alert all night! Guess I'll be alert again tonight! Got my fan working. I believe the entire duct system packed off with snow. I stuck an elephant trunk under the dash, and wacked the fan housing with my fist. It sputtered to life!
Should be in completion mode tonight, so I think I can get away for an hour if the lights come out.

Just ran up the road. Nice band horizon to horizon although kinda dim. Might be some good stuff this evening. And it's looking like I can get away. Man I wish there were some hills or mountains around. I'm limited to pipelines, electric poles, or well houses for subject matter in the pictures. Oil well...

Yep,
I just saw that band going across the sky, as you said kind of dim. It was a bit to the north not quite overhead. Some nice features out over the sea though. Had to go out back to really see it. But darn, the bingo hall is open tonight, a bunch of cars out back with their head lights on. Had to back up behind a 20' container to get some darkness. At least they won't be there after midnight. Looks like it might be tonight instead of lastnight.

Making dinner now, I'll take another look after I eat. Well I wanted to play around with my phone for a bit. Gonna see if my old phone will work with ACS after I swap the SIM card. Would be nice to get a more reliable signal.

Rance,

Nice!
I was just out, something similar up there but not as intense. Still got some lights from the Bingo hall. I guess I took too long to make and eat dinner and missed those meteors, nice to get them in the pic.

Is that pic looking West?
I did see a bit of a misty fog forming over the ice though and coming in from the north. Hopefully it will remain clear for a few more hours.

It's still early.
