Stephanie...the photos I shot last eve I could not detect colour with the naked eye, but in the photos the Lights were a turquoise colour. The shots John has of November 2004 - that was from a fine sunfart...People in Arizona, and I believe even Hawaii could see it. I remember it well, though none of my photos turned out...it began for me around 1900 and kept going until near dawn the following morn, and yes...the colours were visible to the naked eye. That activity was glorious.

If I was stating 1900 as a date...good gawds, I'd be 108 years young

No, more than that, for in order for me to remember an event such as this, I'd have to be a wee bit older than a newborn.
