God what a horrible night it's going to be.

Gusts up to 60 mph, whistling through my oceanfront apartment door. Looks like a night to turn up the heat and watch the idiot-box.

Good excuse to sleep for 11 hours straight, I guess.

Wish you could play Scrabble solo. Oh well.

Yup, good luck. We were without power for about 18 hrs after the last windstorm hit Anchorage, though some friends down the street went 36 hrs before getting their's back. You might want to get out the flashlights and make sure they all have fresh batteries!

try "syzygy", or "quartz" is always good. I bring out "rococo" when I want someone to challenge the word.

How about using Forum words? I'd really like to be able to use 'unmanagnaly' somewhere.

Good morning---and what a lovely one!! Holy crap, it's supposed to blow even harder today. Apartment is shaking, cable is out, and trees are falling through houses (literally) here on POW.

I'm actually amazed we still have power.

Yeah, I gotta get an emergency kit together. It is a good idea. I should have a couple Rubbermaid totes with essentials in case of a real emergency or multi-day power outage.

Ocean spray is flying over the breakwater. Lots of trees going to be down and work to be done when it calms down, I guess.

WARNING: Don't plan to be riding the ferry for a few days!
