Same here Warpt, and the roads are closing one by one. Puksutauni Phil saw his shadow right? Our 6 weeks of winter should be up by now!

I do not have canned crops as of yet, you are the gullible one, and I have spring 'fever' today something fierce...

Yeah, I'm stuck at home with snow blowing and nasty outside, I didn't make it to work and it makes me fidgetty.

My yard pond was all thawed out a week ago and I fished out the dead koi, now it's under 2-3 ft of new snow with more on the way. This sucks! Does anyone remember what green grass looks like?

Green what??? I only remember green grass on Pine Ridge in the spring for maybe two or three weeks, then would go back to brown...what amazed me were the prickly-pear cactus growing under the Ponderosa pines..., scorpions that must migrate in the winter...you should see them haul butt across the freeway when they do...those weird Jerusalem beetle things that are just alien looking...but on the lighter side with your birds, do you have the crossbills? talk about dum or tame...would have to go tickle to wake up and get a picture of the young ones...

I've just started seeing a couple crossbills the last warm spell we got a few days ago. I saw one coming in yesterday but as lousy as the weather is, I'm surprised to see them at all. This morning there were 30-40 goldfinches and redpolls on the thistle sock (so many you could barely see the sock!) and another 20 or so on the ground. Then the blackbirds showed up and the only thing visiting this afternoon is juncos and blackbirds and an occasional woodpecker or bluejay.

I can't wait til spring.
