Hullo folks! Missed you!

Hey, did you know that T-Mobile sucks from Denver, through WY, through SD and into MN? Nationwide my fat arse. Also, signal was sketchy to nil from M/SP to Duluth, same to Ft Frances.

Speaking of FT Frances- less than 5 min in line at the border, less than 20 min to register/permit my husbands' shotgun, back on the road. Would have saved a buttload of time by getting the paper filled out first, but didn't have a printer. Oh well.

Stayed at Big Pine Lake Camp 1st night. Very perfect- 20$CAN, no reservation.

2nd day, drove from there to Asessippi Provincial Park in MB. Stayed the night at cute camp in the park, 15$CAN. Hot showers, firewood provided. Too bad it rained and we had to pack up all wet. Stinks in the truck bed oh well.

Fuel is STUPID expensive! 3.45-3.79$ US per US gallon. (.99-1.03$CAN p/Imperial L thus far).

Am sitting at Alberta border visitor ctre. It's closed. Boo. Wanted a free map and brochures.

Taking Hwy 16 to Edmonton, but can't get to Warp's post on best ways through that city from 16 due to super slow net. Anyone care to paste it to my PM, pretty please?

Arright, back on the road- due on base by Monday

If anyone else headed this way sees a big blue Tundra w/ "Alaska Bound" on the side- that's us.

Shan.. All Over-excited

Going to try to find wifi so that my G1 can seek out ... bahj nm. I'll just x fingers and stay on 16/Yellowhead Trl.

Whitecourt AB. Stopped to get fuel (.96 CAN for Reg) and stretch.

Wish my phone would post pictures here. Loaded a bunch from the D5000 to my G1, but it's refusing to post them here. Sigh.

Shan, don't drive into Grand Prairie, it's a pain there.

Do this, Take 16 until it turns into Highway 43 until Highway 2. Go north from the cut off to Grand Prairie up to Sexsmith. From there take a left on highway 59 over to 43 and go north. You will avoid Grand Prairie and it's headaches with the traffic.

Thanks again Warpt. Wish I had loaded all the good road info to my mobile before I left TX.

What's it mean when a big truck flashes bright lights at you when they're _ahead_ of you by many car-lengths?

Maybe you're overloaded and it seeems to others that your brights are on? Or... speed trap straight ahead!
