Or unless enough wingnuts hit the "report this post" button, which seems to be the way here....kinda like Pavlov's dogs, they've learned how to get their desired results. Sad, really.

Back to the bunnies....we're sort of overrun with them here. People think it's okay to let them loose when they don't want them anymore.

Hey, I'm a conservative kind of guy in a lot of ways, gun rights, strong military, etc. But, I am definitely a fiscal conservative, something missing from the last couple of administrations. I'm also lost on the subject of Iraq (not on Afghanistan, though). My party turn a hard right and went religious. I am enough of a conservative to believe in states rights and separation of church and state.

This country was originally founded on the premise that a (wo)man (for you PCer's out there) could worship as they pleased. That tyranny was to be fought in all it's forms. The first loss of states rights was the Whiskey Rebellion, and it went downhill from there.

Strange as it might sound, I am a firm believer in states rights. Yep, that kind of conservative. Believing in something that has been blocked at every opportunity by the federal government. A Jeffersonian rather than a Jacksonian.

The Federalist Papers, Jefferson and Madison believed in individual rights and states rights. So do I. I also believe in personal responsibility, public service for it's own sake (not personal power). Outdated concepts, but then I'm kind of an old fashioned kind of guy. So, I'm out of step with most of my fellow Republicans and with a lot of the Democrats. Makes me sound like a Libertarian, right?

My party was the party of inclusion 50 years ago. It freed the slaves 150 years ago. True, it was a political move on Lincoln's part, but I like to think he would have done it anyway.

Conservatives aren't all boogey men. Some of us are pretty level headed. I'm gonna let Obama have at least a half a term before I pronounce any judgments. I figure I should let him have at least that much time before I can say yea or nay.

And I never said I was a "liberal". Some of the morons on this board decided that without knowing anything about me other than that I did not support their tawdry queen Sarah Palin because of her crazy ass religion and her inability to keep that separate from her political "career" of you can call it that.
