I have been waiting for that show to come on for a month now! I cant wait to watch it. As soon as that comes out there is going to be thousands of people trying to get into the AST/AWT.

90% of my time is spent in Anchorage (if not more nowadays, because I seem to get out very seldom). Troopers anymore, to me, are the guys handing out traffic tickets rather than the voice of the law. JMO, lately of course.

But the guys handing out the tickets are usually done with one or two tours of Bush life and are now capable of selecting assignments in larger populated areas.

I have been trying to contact the phone number on the background application for 4 days now. Morning, afternoon, and night. The first 2 days I left a message with my name, what the message concerned, and phone number. However, no call. Anyone know whats going on or have this problem?

No, my husband has called up there 3 times and each time spoke to someone right away. Also, he has emailed Lt. Laughlin twice and heard back the same day each time. He has called the numbers on this page:

I saw the advertisement for the AK troopers thing on TV for the Nat'l Geographic tonite. All I could think was that this was another theme that would make Alaska more enticing to some as the Final Frontier (again!). Ice Road Truckers, Deadliest Catch, Tougher in Alaska, etc, etc.

Darnit. Another thing to draw in the touristas and lookie loos. As a relative latecomer, I actually have no real right to whine, as I've only been here 8-9 years. And the state is still here. I haven't made that much of an impact to be honest. I also haven't been ridden out on a rail or tarred and feathered, so I'm not much of a carpetbagger.

But you would think that they get a little tired of copy catting on the Alaska reality programming. Personally, I want to see Hawaiian reality TV. You know, life on the beach after work. Baywatch Maui. Or Australian outback life. Or jungle life in Costa Rica. Mexican fishing hour. Something to take the heat off of Alaska. Oh, wait... I am going to be wanting that heat in February or March, waiting for spring. LOL
