Hummmmm, one of the benefits of living on a relatively stable landmass. The ground doesn't move much around here. Well.......there are those Saturday nights.....!

Nope! I was working off an 8' step ladder all day and never felt a thing. Didn't even hear about it till just now. I wonder if living here so long makes one immune to those things.

They have to be pretty good ones to feel them if you are out walking, moving around, driving, etc.

Our community gathered donations and volunteers and built a hockey rink at the local elementary school here in Sterling. Now a handfull of us members of the Sterling Brotherhood go up and snowblow or shovel, and water the rink. Actually it gets more family use than hockey players.
We got no zamboni. We use a homemade watering pipe wrapped in rags with a garden hose attached. Tonight was night 4 and it's pretty much ready to skate on. We do it for the kids. We'll be building a community center this coming summer. With a gymnasium. And will be available for receptions, weddings, bingo, family gatherings, whatever. Being a community and not a bonafide town or city...we take matters into our own hands.
