Can I still catch me a moose in Alaska? OR is the paperwork and fees out of this world?

Yeah, you can still get "Moose Catchers" at the tourist shops.

They look like an arrow on one end with a chain on the other and about two feet long made of about 1/4" Iron square stock. The object is to sneak up on the moose and insert the pointy end where the sun don't shine and anchor the other end to a tree to keep them from running off..

I guess the hard part is to keep from getting kicked... just a guess though.

I don't think there was much regulations in using this type of trapping system, not enough people survived to have it be an really issue in harvesting moose populations

Yep, He also has a team of grizzlies he has trained to run a whip saw.
I think he told me they can cut about 1000 board feet a day. He said they can usally keep up with the beavers he has that cuts the trees down.
It's a pretty slick operation he has running up there. Everybody should check it out if they are in fairbanks. I think he cuts all summer long.
