Hello Everyone,

We are a young family of four. My Huband (Logistics Driver with an A.S degree in criminal justice/psychology ) Myself (Currently going for my A.S degree in business) And our 2 children (1 elementary school aged. The other a toddler). We currently live in Staten Island NYC. Which we dread! We would like to get out asap! My husband has put in a transfer for the time being his ultimate goal of course is to become a police officer in the albany pd or one of the surrounding areas. I myself plan on finishing my degree while I am a stay at home mom. We have looked into Colonie which is gorgeous but seems to be pricey ( well atleast craigslist shows it to be ). Would anyone be able to reccommend any other suburbs of albany where 3 bdrm house rentals would be priced out under $1200 mth. Somewhere with great schools and great neighbors. We are so sick of the rude Islanders lol. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks in advance.

We live in Glenmont (10 minutes from dwntwn Alb.) and pay $1200/month for a very nice 3 bedroom townhouse in a great family-friendly area. Try Delmar/Slingerlands/Bethlehem/Glenmont area. The commute from Colonie to Albany, tho short in terms of miles, can be brutal. You don't need to go that far north to find a good place to live & raise a family. Stay away from Albany proper. Where are you going to attend schoo;?

Maybe something across the Hudson in East Greenbush might work too.
