Also if your husband has a computer or goes to the public library and uses their computer he can look into the yahoo group "schoharie freecycle", it's were people give away items or ask for items. Also google has free stuff.

I know there are good folks there that will see to him, and offer any help they might need.

I really felt that I must reply to this thread as the original posting is completely fabricated or distorted to the point of being laughable. Sadly, it was brought to my brother's attention by one of his clients. Which in itself offered yet another oppotunity for this pariah to further embarrass our family.
MyFinalNerve was not married to her husband for 40 years. He had a previous marriage that didn't end until roughly 1977. She didn't even meet him until at least 1979/80, when I was already 13 and this was 6 years after MY parents sold their farm in NY. But, hey, what's a 10-12 yr error? Since she is only 55 that would have made her 15 when she married my father and that, per her own statements, was after 2 subsequent marriages.
I really don't know where the 8 children came from. She had 3 children prior to meeting her current husband. Two of which the state of Texas removed from her and terminated her parental rights in the mid-seventies. She then had another child out of wedlock which my father has been caring for since the child was 6 months old. This would be the older daughter she is "helping until spring". However, this grown 30 yr. old "child" doesn't need her help. She is a frequent guest of the State of Colorado Department of Corrections. Then there is her adult daughter in NY who was also a previous guest of the State of Colorado. Finally, the youngest, who does actually live with her but only as the bait to keep her husband sending her money.The "we" she is talking about in her household would include herself, her youngest daughter and her boyfriend of 10 years. Yes, she even moved her boyfriend in.
The 3 children my father had by his first marriage never really resided with them. My youngest brother and I were with them at different times but, for both of us, it was for a very brief period of time (90 days or less). It would quickly become problematic for her to have us around since we tended to tell our father that every time he went out of town she was stumbling drunk and dragging strange men home from the bars. Good thing the 3 of us weren't raised by her! We're educated, successful and don't have prison records.
As far as her husbands family being "dead" or "dead drunk". The only drunk that her husband is related to is HER. Perhaps her memory has been confused by the years of smoking dope. Or, because her birth mother was a schizophrenic, addict with a lifetime membership to the Department of Mental Health in Kansas.
Money probably would be so tight for her if her boyfriend would stop buying porn on the internet and all three of them would get jobs! She also could care less about being reunited with her husband. What she really wants is to be reunited with his monthly SS check!
Oh, Farmington University is in Maine. My father went to SUNY Farmingdale.
Interesting, good to know. She came off very sincere. She got a lot of good advice, maybe someone else was able to use it. Interesting she never posted an update. Sure makes one think twice before wanting to help someone in need.
