My better half and I are considering a move to Albuquerque in about a year. What is the average cost of water for a year for a residential home. Let's say a home about 2000 square foot with occupants.

Westside Albuquerque, family of 4, $700.
Eastside Albuquerque, family of 4, $1000.

(Just for example.. Eastside has a lawn, westside has.. well.. no yard to put a lawn).

They did say Albuquerque, not Edgewood, or Rio Rancho, or Corrales.

Don't think there are many (or any?) instances of well/septic to residences within the city limits.

Our annual cost =$700.
Family of four.
Westside home of approx 2,000 square feet.
Two evaporative coolers.
Dishwasher is hardly ever used.
Large lot (plus quarter acre) with lots of greenery, pond + waterfall, & vegetable garden.

franchise fee 1.31
tax 1.73

Total 30.84

Sewer 8.89
sewer treatment 4.44
ordinance compliance recovery 4.67
capital contribution .32
franchise fee .73
tax .95

Subtotal 20.00

garbage pick-up & recycling $13.10

Total: 69.44

Those look like good estimates. We live near Tramway/Montgomery. Our yard is 2/3 acre...some of which is zeriscaped but we have a few areas of grass and some big trees to water. We wash clothes (3 people) once a week, use the dishwasher 3-4 times a week, and our water/sewer bill totaled $1210 for the past 12 months. My guess is we use a little less water indoors than average people but certainly more outdoors because of the size of the yard.
