... Cuz the Mountainair Forest Svc District is closing access due to the extreme fire danger, and my Forest Svc contacts tell me the Sandia District probably is next (likely to close on the 23rd or 24th of May).

Wouldn't be as much of a problem if people would stop being *******s and learn how to put out their cigarette butts before flicking them, or actually listening when they say "no campfires" or "no charcoal grills"

And don't forget the grown men playing with bottle rockets (sigh). But to be fair, that "tire fire" over by Clovis was started by a tire blow-out - hard to help that.

I know I'll sleep better at night if they close the Sandia District - I'm so paranoid I keep imagining I smell smoke - but the last time I smelled smoke it turned out to be a plastic spoon melting on the heating element of my dishwasher. Oops.

I read it in the Mountain View Telegraph the other day. We were there for vacation in 08 when the Manzanos were burning. When we went to the apple ranch in 09 you could still see the devistation.
