Has anyone ever gone to a wedding or function at the Sheraton Uptown? How was the food and service? Has anyone had a function there? We are debating between the Sheraton and Nativo Lodge for our daughter's bat mitzvah. What do you think?

Have been to a function there; food and service was good.

No experience with the Nativo in terms of functions there; definitely has more character but the Sheraton definitely exudes class.

Yes, I like that the Nativo is more New Mexico-ish, and the catering guy there is great, but it's a bit worn looking and in need of a face-lift, while the Sheraton just had a renovation. It is a bit fancier, but also doesn't have the New Mexico character at all.

We use to stay at the Sheraton in the 90's (It was a different chain then, Hilton then?) and went to variety of functions, diners, parties, government seminars, up until about 5 years ago. Always good food and service. Always tried to stay there when I was in ABQ on business...

My wife's employer was involved with two major contractors, 100+ people, which each held an event at the Nativo Lodge there twice and were not pleased with the service.

Well, I'm about to drive down to the Sheraton to sign the papers. I really liked the guy at Nativo much more, but the Sheraton is in a better location and looks better.

My son's football banquet was at the Nativo Lodge. We were in a balcony-type of area at the top of the lobby stairs. The food and service were great. They let us bring in our own cake for dessert, which some places won't let you do. I think the Nativo Lodge has more southwest flair compared to the Sheraton. I recommend the Nativo Lodge.

I agree that Nativo has more southwest flair, and I heard their food was good too. We were going to use that upstairs balcony in fact. We ended up going with The Sheraton because it's close to our synagogue, they have a shuttle which can drive the guests to and from the synagogue, and their physical plant is kept up much better. Nativo looks a little worn with carpets warped, paint chipped, etc. That being said, the catering manager, Shawn, was the best of all the people I had worked with.

Sounds like that's going to work out great with the transportation. Please give us a review after the bat mitzvah.
