I've been searching for 5 months now and cannot find a decent place to board my Parrot while I travel on business -- It's scary what some businesses call "bird boarding" (a table in a hallway, a utility room with no windows) Please help if you know of anyone who boards birds with the respect and compassion these intelligent animals deserve.

Have you tried calling local vets who treat birds, to see if they board or have pet sitters they recommend?

Yep, I've called every Vet (literally) in ABQ and either they don't board birds or they "think" they board birds which I've learned means they treat birds like third-class creatures. I've actually had one boarding facility show me a "utility room" with no windows and a wooden table -- I was told they'd keep her cage on the table -- a well known Vet clinic actually is boarding birds in their "Cat Room" -- yes, in the Cat boarding room! It breaks my heart to see that birds, in my case, a smart, loving intelligent Parrot just gets no respect

Doctor Riegger who runs Northwest Animal Clinic at 1000 Alameda Blvd NW, Albuquerque, keeps a parrot in his office. The Doctor has been treating our pets for about 15 years...

I drive up to Feathered Friends of Santa Fe when I have to board my Parrotlet. They do a pretty good job of taking care of him. That is the only place I could find that boards birds.
