Has anybody been there? If so, how long should I expect to expend visiting the historical sites of Billy the Kid? I understand a lot of the hours are based on 10 - 4pm e.g. the Tunstall Store and County Court House. Generally from what I have seen through watching YouTube that you basically walk through town to see the sites. Any info would be helpful, thank you...

That should do it. We spent about four hours and saw everything, including the graveyard.

Thanks for your replies. I called the Lincoln Historical Society and was told a some of the sites are closed i.e. the Court House and Tunstall Store due to the off season. So I am glad that I called ahead. I will attempt a trip out there later this Spring or early Summer as temperatures warm up.

One stop to consider and not too terribly out of the way if you are coming from the West, is the No Scum Allowed Saloon.

Just down the road is the Cedarvale Cemetery where deputy sheriff J.W. Bell who was killed in Billy's jail break in Lincoln is buried.

Incidentally, the spot where Pat Garrett was bushwhacked is down by Las Cruces, as is his grave in the town cemetery nearby.

Have Fun!

You could spend more time if you get there in August for Billy the Kid weekend. They used to have all kinds of fun stuff, including a fiddle contest and lots of things for the kids. I haven't been there since the 90's so I don't know if they still do that or not.
