OMG don't say cannoli.

There is a bakery in Philly that will fedex you cannoli pastry and the filling in a bag so you can construct your own.

Lived in Manhattan for 6 yrs in the late 70s early 80s and ABQ is definitely different, in my opinion. But I have never been in Brooklyn so I cannot compare Brooklyn to ABQ.

Actually cannolis are one of the few things I miss that I cannot get out here, so I pig out on them when we go to New York every summer.

Its a darn shame ABQ did not get a good-sized population of Greek and Italian immigrants way back when to open bakeries so we could enjoy it now.

Helen's Bakery across from Fair Plaza at San Pedro and Lomas.

Helen's is on the East side of San Pedro just N of Lomas before Marble.
You can't miss the light blue cross behind the [Helen's Bakery] sign.

It's a good place to practice your Spanish since no one working there
seems to speak English. Just point and smile and enjoy.

Actually Albuquerque has a very sizable greek community. Someone needs to go to the Greek Festival this year.

Wow Jazz, thank you for posting this topic. I'm a former sunset park (born and raised) resident now currently residing in orange county, ny. My wife and I are hoping to visit come the fall. Moving from sunset park to where we currently reside was a big adjustment. So I have no doubt if we do decide to move to NM, the adjustment will be easy. I hope things work out for both you and your boy.
