I stopped doing that to my dog. The last time, his straight hair turned permanently curly.

My doctor has had me on prednisone before for this rash I used to get. It would wipe the rash out but I HATED the side effects. It made me feel crazy & bi polar or something.

Prednisone. My dog was treated for allergies with it every year. The last time, it turned his straight hair permanently curly. After that, I decided I would never use prednisone unless absolutely necessary. Not on my pets. Not on my family. It's serious medicine, and should be used for only very serious health problems.

It's a steroid, so I can see that happening. It makes me crazy & I won't take it anymore.

Just an update on the allergies or whatever. Allegra D not helping at all today, & now I feel like it's a cold. 5 days until my wedding, & there is a good chance I will be sick as a dog. My mom suggested one of those facial steamer things, so I'll see if the pharmacy has one. I might try a couple of glasses of red wine tonight too (in the past, red wine has helped get rid of a cold, in moderation, of course).

Went to the doctor yesterday, sore throat & headaches/fatigue were unbearable. I had some kind of infection in my throat. He put me on Methy? (like prednisone) & penicillin. So far the steroid isn't making me crazy so that's good. Feeling 100% already I just hope it doesn't make me all puffy for my wedding

I tried various medicines for years, then I read about using bee honey and it works great ! I take about a teaspoon 3 times a day and it works with NO side effects. However, I am lucky enough to have the bee hives less than a quarter of a mile from my house so a lot of the pollen that the bees gather comes from flowers in my own yard so it really works on the local allergy causes. Plus it tastes so darn good.

Prednisone does make you feel like you're bouncing off the walls. It can turn peaceful people into fighters and it can increase your appetite so you may gain some weight if you are not careful.

Local honey is good for allergies, but it has to be local not from the grocery store.
