Well I went back to clinic and a different doctor saw me this time. This time I was prescribed the same medicine, along with Sinus Rinse (salt water) and Nasonex. The cough has something to do with my nose. My cough also gets worse whenever I drink anything cold, so I can only have hot drinks until my cough goes away.
It sounds like you have post-nasal drip:

Postnasal drip creates an annoying feeling that makes you want to constantly clear your throat. Because the feeling of the liquid in your throat is irritating and contains inflammatory substances, postnasal drip also can trigger a cough, which often gets worse at night. In fact, postnasal drip is the most common cause of chronic cough. Excess mucus running down your throat may also make you feel hoarse and give you a sore throat.
Yeah, I guess I do have post-nasal drip. Is it common for it to take a long time go away? My second bottle of medicine just ran out and I've been using the sinus rinse for a week. I noticed late when my medicine was running out that dairy products seem to make it worse. Do I continue with the sinus rinse and nasal spray and see what happens? Should I take it with the Robitussin I have leftover in my cupboard? It's ridiculous. Am I going to have to make a 4th visit to the clinic or what?? It's been over a month!
