Yes you may get a similar sensation from interferential, pre modulated, Russian, hi/lo volt types of stim, but they actually do have some therapeutic effects on our bodies.

I'm glad you and your BF are getting relief from chiro care!
I am pretty sure he is using a tens unit on both of us...

I am glad too!

Well, I was trying to do without going to the chiro, but gave up and am going this p.m. My neck and shoulders just get too tight, and I start feeling uncomfortable all over. Wish insurance would pay for this, my plan only pays a few bux, I have to pay almost all out of pocket.

Speak for yourself. You had a one-time misalignment, not chronic, nor do you have spinal weakness.

If I choose to skip for a month or two, by the time I finally get in there my back is so twisted, that my neck, elbows, knees, and, sometimes, feet hurt. I've tried to wean myself away, but always end up going twice a week for three weeks just to get back to normal.

Once every two or three weeks is excellent maintenance for me. Due to degenerative disk in lower spine, eventually, my hips shift, r-leg ends up shorter than left, I can't walk for more than a block, nor stand straight. Saw chiro on Thursday, and took a long walk on Friday. My health depends on my ability to take long, fast walks. Prior to last visit, I had to stop after two blocks.

Every other week chiro care is very cheap maintenance for me. @$25 a visit, I think I can handle it.

Sounds a lot like me.

No human is in perfect alignment but they don't tell you that. I went for about 9 months but I realized I would be going for life as there is no adjustment to cure the cause of the pain. It either fades away by itself in time, or you suffer for life with it. You can try getting a massage at a good massage place and feel the same. The manipulations help loosen and relax tight muscles and joints and will always make you feel better afterward. But the effects aren't permanent as proven by feeling better every time you get a massage or adjustment. So I stopped going. The pain eventually worked itself out and faded away. They can make you feel better but they can't cure the pain.

Problems from head to toe because of this. He works on that and all of my knots, etc. My SO goes as well but the Chiro doesn't spend nearly as much time with him....
Has a regular Dr seen you for this pain? It could be arthritis in one of it's many forms.

I have a lot of lower back pain and this week it has been pretty painful to walk, but it feels much better now.

Any good/bad experiences?
Lower back pain was what I suffered also. I still do at times. But x-rays and CT scans didn't show anything such as a bulging disk. The specialist thought it was a pinched nerve somewhere but that can't really be seen in scans and x-rays. It started 20+ years ago when helping my husband lay the decking for the floor of this house.

Have you tried having your husband massage the aching area? It sounds to me like tenseness. I get that at times also, especially when something very stressful happens or I've worked in the garden for a few hours digging and pulling weeds. You don't need a Chiro for that.

Ms Kitty,

I have Rheumatoid arthritis as well as Fibromyalgia, so I stay in quite a bit of constant pain.

The adjustments help tremendously, and I go less as time goes by.

I see an Internist as well as a Rheumatologist for these issues regularly. For a long time.....

MRI shows disc bulge. I do not have that, but I do have disc space narrowing. My SO does have disc bulges...

I understand. Back pain and be incapacitating. For awhile I had to take muscle relaxants and a pain killer so I could do things other than stay in bed or on the recliner. I never could get a definitive diagnosis.
