I am not sure where to post this question. I apologize. My husband has been diagnosed with sleep apnea and since it is determined that he is a mouth breather, he needs a full face cpap machine. Does anybody have ideas which are some of the best CPAP machines on the market...NOt sure where to start so any pointers will be immensely helpful. Thank you!
my husband has used a Resmed S9 for more than five years now. He was also a 'mouth-breather,' but a full mask was really uncomfortable. He started using the nose pillows, and the adjustment was hard at first (chin strap to keep his mouth shut), but eventually he started breathing through his nose. If your husband has a severely deviated sceptum, and can't breathe through his nose, this should probably be fixed with surgery, otherwise, he will get used to it. On most insurance plans, a machine must be prescribed by a sleep specialist, and this pescription will come with a company who provides the machine, and helps with setup. My husband is an entirely different person after using an APAP... good luck to you both.
