You'll find directions to take on empty stomach and others will say take with food. Some have said they get stomach upsets so take it with foods. When I first started back in 1995 we were instructed to take on empty stomach this way it does not get all mixed up with foods...and I started that way and it's worked all these years...my later in the day dose is taken with foods as there has been food added to my stomach all day.
I have a pretty strong stomach all in all...so no upsets here.
As I said I take my first 200mg on empty stomach with my couple meds before I get going for the day.
Take care.
Thanks for elaborating. I increased my dose to 240 mg so far, and might try to bump it up a bit more.
I've been borderline anemic before and recently been having signs of iron deficiency again. Within the past month I have started taking milk thistle, grape seed extract, and curcumin. Doing online research, I find out that milk thistle chelates iron out of the body, and both GSE and curcumin inhibit iron absorption. It appears that the polyphenols in the GSE are what inhibit the iron absorption, but this can apparently be mitigated by the addition of ascorbic acid. So I'm stopping the milk thistle and the curcumin, and I'm going to cut back on the GSE and make sure I take it with vitamin C.
