Please advise the best internal cleasing to use. I need a deep internal cleansing and I wasn't sure if a colonic does the trick or some of the advertising products I see on informercials.
As a nurse, I don't get this whole "colon cleansing" thing at all. Your body cleanses itself very well if you eat the proper foods and have a varied diet.
I've been able to watch the videos from a few endoscopies and colonoscopies I've assisted with and I've never seen old food "stuck" in the folds of the intestinal walls even when an endoscopy was done looking for an intestinal "bleeder" and the person wasn't prepped other than being NPO (fasting) for a day.

I'm with you JenLee, internal cleansing and high colonics are just another example of alternative voodoo....useless and potentially dangerous
I am an NP as well and you do not need to do any colon cleansing. The body takes care of itself. All of those infomercials or spas that recommend/do this colon cleansing are doing it just to make money off of people. It cannot help you at all but it can hurt you. Those colonics can cause electrolyte imbalances and irritate the colon. I cannot believe how many people buy into this colon cleansing crap.
I had a colonic a year ago (I'm one of those people that has to try everything at least once). It was no big deal - I didn't feel any different and I haven't had another once since.
I'd rather eat a bowl of colon blow cereal (Fiber One), save the $90 bucks, and I’m good to go!

Thank you. You just saved my husband and I at least $300.00.
i want to know what all these am/pm pills are in the gnc complete body cleansing program
Laxatives.
I'm with the rest of you--I think they're a scam, and I put them in the same category with ear candling and progesterone cream. I appreciate alternative therapies when they work, but not all of them do--esp the most heavily advertised ones.
That said, I don't think it's a bad idea to clean yourself out once in a while and do a little fasting to give the old system a rest---just don't drop a lot of dough to do it.
