I've heard a box of cereal cost like $70. Is that true? Any other information about the cost of living would be appreciated as well.

In the Spring, gas was about 12 American cents per gallon. I kid you not!

I know gas is cheap. Venezuela has the most oil reserves out of any country in the world. They have 20% of the worlds oil. Now if only they can get rid of chavez.

Seoul is nowhere near the top 5. I found prices to be compareable with Bangkok or somewhere like that. Easy to pick up cheap lunch and dinner and such, and taxis are super cheap. (I lived in Seoul for about 7 years).

I believe those studies are based on expats retaining a lifestyle similar to what they had back home. If you try to live and eat western style in a city like Seoul, than it's expensive. If you just live like everyone else and like Korean food, it's not expensive at all.

I've also been to Caracas and maybe dated information now (ten years ago), but it was cheap at the time. Maybe for an expat though living the expat lifestyle, it might demand more imports or something.

I agree. Moscow is supposed to be the most expensive city in the world according to these kinds of lists, but a metro ride costs just 20 cent, you can buy a bottle of vodka for 3$, if you live in the outskirts were most russians live you're not going to pay high for rent as well compared to Western Europe or the US.
