So many things went wrong: pyrotechnics on stage, 2000 people crammed into a club with 1000 capacity, no exit signs on exit doors, very dark, guards not letting panicked people run out the exits, the club's fire permit expired in August . . .
I hope that the nightclub owners get into real trouble
Don't they have any safety laws for nightclubs in Brazil?
Doesnt surprise me. They have rules towards nightclubs, but often they are not followed. Ive been in places in Brazil where I thought, "if a fire broke out lots of people would die."
The President of Brazil was visibly shaken by this tragedy:
I read in a news article that after visiting the hospital and speaking with parents that lost sons/daughters, she cancelled the rest of her agenda for the day. She was that shaken by this.
terrible similar thing that happened in Buenos Aires in 2004 and it was a very very sad tragedy in our society. Today, 10 years later, families of the deceased one are looking for justice, the band members that were giving the recital are either in prision or asylums, and its all together just such a horrible tragedy.
I wish peace for the families of dead ones and all people that have been there. This is a horrible horrible tragedy
Just like the one that happened in 2003 in the United States of America, when 100 people died in a fire in a nightclub called "The Station" in the state of Rhode Island:
Rules lol? In kidnap city? As if.....anyways sad sad story.
Santa Maria is a very safe small town in Rio Grande do Sul. Do not make assumptions about what you do not know.
