I haven't tried food from every Latin American country, but I voted for Puerto Rico. I've been there three times and the food is always great. I love the mofongo, tostones and fried pork especially.

I prefer Mexican as well, but I think Peruvian is pretty good and unfortunately I find a lot of the cuisine of other Latin American countries sometimes a bit bland in comparison to either. Third up, I'd put either Brazilian or Haitian, and Brazil's really about the sheer variety given its massive size and many immigrant communities. I'm guessing I'd like Guatemalan if I ever tried it as I think it shares some of its cuisine with parts of southern Mexico that I really enjoy, but I'm not sure.

...agree about Brazil.....Sao Paulo has the best Italian food I've had outside of Italy and the Japanese food is excellent as well--not surprising since it has the largest Italian ancestry population outside of Italy and largest concentration of Japanese descent outside of Japan.
