That is one solution. I suppose it wouldn't matter too much for Caribbean or Central America, as neither are being discussed much anywhere.

On the other hand, the Mexico Forum seems so specific to a lot of long-term American expats and such with a lot of familiarity and interest in Mexico.

If someone was specifically ONLY interested in say Trinidad or Curacao, they might get VERY LITTLE out of constantly viewing a 'Mexico, Central America, and Caribbean' forum. I'd think that would still continue to be 99% Mexico.

On the other hand, that's kind of Triniada or Curacoa's fate in the 'Americas' forum as well. But it does seem more 'catch-all' in the Americas Forum.

I just realized how unevenly populated the Americas are

the total population of north and south America is 917,000,000. From this number almost 700 million live in the USA, Brazil and Mexico.

the remaining 217 million live in everywhere else.

The next tier countries in population are Canada, Colombia, Venezuela and argentina and combined they only reach roughly 100 million people, that is just one third of the US's population.

If you put the entire population of all of Central america in north America it would not even 10% of the US/canada population.

Central America is tiny compared to the US and Canada. Is that supposed to be surprising?

Canada, Colombia, Venezuela and Argentina have around 155 million in total. It's more like half, not a third of the US population. The US and Brazil are very big countries even by world standards. The US is the 3rd most populous country in the world after China and India and Brazil is the 5th.

I think, in general, people interested in Brazil, are not necessarily interested in Spanish-speaking countries. Likewise, I doubt if many interested in the Spanish-speaking countries are all that interested in Brazil. If they were, they could subscribe to both though.

I believe the Mod Policy is that there has to be enough posts in the overall forum with that specific country or sub-region to warrant a sub-forum?

1) Mods - Do we have enough Brazil threads to warrant a new forum?
2) Posters - Do we have enough posters who are interested in Brazil having a sub-forum?

Just an inquiry...
No. There are nowhere near enough threads on the topic of Brazil to have a dedicated forum.

Suddenly the poll has 15 yes and 19 NO?

Did someone just create 10-15 accounts, to just click the 'no' button within the last 24 hours?

This sub-forum has over 1,200 topics, about a third of them are about Brazil, that would make for a really poor sub-forum of 300 to 400 topics.
