Yes. The United States of America is commonly called 'America' because of White Supremacy.

Mystery Solved.

Wow, and here I thought it was because "Unitarians" was taken by a religious movement, "Statians" sounds like "stations" and makes no sense, and "United Statians" just sounds goofy and ugly...

But yeah. FIGHT THE MAN! SMASH THE PATRIARCHY! VIVA LA RAZA AND BLACK POWER! damn white supremacy

Everybody knows that whatever whites say is what goes. No need to consult with all those brown people that make up the majority of the residents in the American continent. No mystery there.

Predominantly white USA suddenly says America the continent doesn't exist, that its North America and South America and that's final. Any one of those worthless Spanish-speaking brown people that complain about this are just whiners that can be ignored.

The United States of America is in the America continent (not in North America or The Americas) and that's where the issue lies. Americans are the residents of America, the continent. Its not called The United States of North America for an obvious reason. The founding fathers of the USA knew something about the name of continent they lived in that many people (conveniently mainly from the USA) today like to ignore.

Back to the topic,

Found this about African American migration patterns.

Quote:
They are also moving from inner cities to suburbs. The proportion of the black population living in the biggest city of a given metropolitan area decreased in all 20 of the nation’s largest metro areas in the past decade.

For example, the percentage of the Detroit area’s black residents living in the city of Detroit itself dropped by 16 percent. Other major cities home to large black populations, including New York, Chicago, Los Angeles, Washington, DC, and Oakland, have all experienced large black population losses as well, as residents have left these places for suburbs or the South—or both. Notably, Southern metro areas top the list for national gains in suburban black residents.

Food for thought.

I didn't know that the hemisphere was majority brown. When I looked at the TV shows in most of these countries I thought that they were majority white or tan. A more suntanned version of California that is, with the more obviously brown women doing the same jobs (maids).

The thing is even in those "majority brown" countries, what whites say goes. Just ask any Indigenous or Afro descendant person.

There's a white supremacist agenda behind gentrification.

That's interesting. Why in your facebook profile you only put photos if your trips to St Lucia?

Should be generous sharing your trips to most countries in Latin America with your fb friends. Afterall, the only way to get an idea what the local channels of each country is like is by visiting them and watching their TV.

Hmmm...

Now they are white? What happened to the 'pretending to be white when they aren't?'

But I do see what you mean. Afterall, the one-drop-rule was created by whites of British origin. What they say is final even years after they let go of that rule.

This has been an ongoing trend for a while now. Many AA's have left northeastern cities for the south or the midwest.

Usually these topics are discussed in the general USA forum. Americas is more geared towards discussing the Carribean, Central (excluding Mexico which has it's own sub-forum) and South America. Lol really the name of this sub-forum should be "The rest of the Americas" because that's what is discussed here.
