The situation in Venezuela is getting out of hand and something needs to be done about it. Venezuela should be such a prosperous country but it's so screwed right now so much that Baghdad, Iraq is safer than Caracas. It's just nuts!

Crime Comparison Between Baghdad, Iraq And Caracas, Venezuela. Safety Comparison.

Why should something be done about it? Why not do something about violence in San Pedro Sula? San Salvador? Ciudad Juarez? Rio? etc. Why should Caracas get special consideration?

Because violence is bad anywhere. I never said violence shouldn't be addressed in other places but Caracas' and Venezuela's right now seems especially bad.

Getting out of hand?

You are so modest OP.

It went out of hand a long time ago. Such a shame, considering that Venezuela was one of the more developed countries in Spanish America. Socialism has done it again!

I'm personally shocked that despite all the problems, many Venezuelas say that its better to stay in Venezuela and just wait for things to change.

Irse (ear - say) = to leave
Quedarse (kay - dar - say) = to stay

There are many beautiful and charismatic women over there. Even if you don't know a word of Spanish, its worth to look at the videos due to that.

... because people like me want to go on vacation there ! Sure selfish reasons, but why to many warm interesting ideal vacation spots have so much political and social drama . It is tricky to know when to get involved in these types of situations because techinically the people who live there should be calling the shots because who better to know what they need and value then them.

...

Yes we need to get involved or the world could loose all those pretty women lol? ( ... Yeah that is why I watch soccer so I actually get it )!

On a more serious note... I get the whole idea of not wanting to leave and wanting to wait it out. This is there home and for most people all they have ever know.. why should they give that up. If drama started happening where I live ... if I owned my own home and had a lot invested in my community I would not leave either. Then again waiting it out is a huge gamble. Look what happend to all the Jews who "waited it out" in Europe before the Holocaust! I guess people always have to personally weigh out the risks and benefits. For example for many people they would be leaving part or most of their family behind.

I know from talking with people that leave difficulty environments for a better life in another country they always have that guilt and sadness of not being there if and when their family leaves them. I know for my husband that was his biggest fear living so far away from his family ex not being there if something where to happen to his parents. Last mintues flights are costly and not always easy to get back home in case of emergency. I am personally really thankful my husband was able to get back home before his mother died because otherwise he would be devastated if he was not able to be there. I have a lot of respect for people that have the option to leave, but choose to stick it out. It is their country and should not be shaping it and not be pushed out.
