I have been to Cuba. I've also worked with and have friends who are Cuban immigrants. Their first-hand experiences under the Castro regime are far more believable than that of some occasional tourist.

So tell us: where are all the Cubans on the internet? Why aren't they here posting about the idyllic paradise Castro has made for them?

People who view Castro's government positively are somehow getting some sort of privilege from it or are in denial of its atrocities....If you have walked the streets of Havana( which is what Cuba has best to offer in terms if cities) it is pretty clear Castro has failed his people.

Because less than 5% of cubans have internet at home and some of the worlds worst connectivity, the government monitors usage and any dissent or opposition sites are censored.

men and women risk their lives to escape from Castro's Cuba like they did in east germany witht he wall and in communist dictatorships all over the world . How many champagne socialists and western lefties ever took the simple step of moving to cuba to help and live the revolution

Its a shame so many supporters of the revolution never moved there, they visit for a cruise and go home but few seem to want to live in the joys of revolution and a police state

Ignored by popular opinion, people who harp on and on about violence in Cuba but ignore genocide and massacres in Central America by Right Wing governments.

I don't support communism, I don't think it's a good system. And I think Castro ran a very corrupt government, contradicting many beliefs he supposedly stood for.

I myself prefer democratic socialism the most. But I am defending communism in places that it worked and is actually doing better than other countries in the respective region like Cuba in comparison to the other poor nations in central America.

People who view Obama's government positively are in denial of its atrocities. If you walk on the streets of Detroit and see all the beggers, poverty, and inequality there, you will see how Obama failed his people.

OMG, inequality!!! Let's make everybody poor and unproductive so that it's fair.

I connected with City-Data in Cuba, not blocked. Problem is speed, at least a few months ago. 48K, in takes several minutes to load a page and price is exhorbitant. Now they have wifi in some areas, but paid wifi I believe and slow and censored. There are a zillion blocked websites.

There's a "Cuban Internet", impossible to access form outside, in the past you could access some Spanish pages..but I believe they blocked them.
