I love Mexico and go there as often as I can. My husband is a bit worried about going now due to Trump and the poisoning of relations. I assume Mexicans know that at least half of the US can't stand the guy and even if they didn't know that, American tourist dollars are always welcomed. Would you think about any of this when planning a trip - either to Mexican Riviera, Mexico City, Guanajuato/San Miguel?
I wouldn't worry about that, someone posted something similar in the Politics board.
At the moment, I think Mexicans are more concerned with their own government due to price hikes in items such as gas and tortillas and other corruption problems. There is concern over Trump, but a majority of the people are very critical of their government and hold it accountable, I don't see that they are blaming Americans for anything or holding resentments.
I don't think you would have any problems, especially in big cities or resort towns.
