Planning a trip to Mexico City in November! Super excited. One advantage I think for tourism purposes at least for Mexico City vs. the other two (at least for me, in the states) is this:

Flight time and cost, Orlando to Mexico City (flights available RT for $249), flight length is around 3 hours.
To do a similar trip to sightsee in Sao Paulo, or Buenos Aires, it would run me at least $800 RT. Not only that, but travel time to either winds up being around 10 hours at least, even if lucky enough to find a nonstop.

Second, even if we assume that each has plenty to do, and I am sure they do, Mexico City sorta won the geographic lottery with it's surrounding attractions. You have Teotihuacan just outside the city, which Howard Hillman ranks in his Top 10 wonders globally, among the likes of the Acropolis in Athens. All the other Aztec sites surrounding also. You have an impressive mountainous landscape great for hiking at almost any time thanks to the climate, right there. Also, you are within a quick trip (5 hrs. drive) of numerous other cool natural areas, historic cities (Guanajuato, Puebla, even Guadalajara, Oaxaca aren't much further than this), and, to top it all off, you are only about 4-5 hours from both the Gulf and the Pacific (I realize Acapulco is going through some stuff right now, but still, one of the most beautiful coastal destinations anywhere if it pulls itself out). Not that the other places don't have impressive spots also, but that is difficult to top.
