Do you think the cinnamon would help with type 1? Even with insulin my daughter's blood sugar jumps quickly.

YES! It was Type I diabetic friends that told me about this....it "stabilizes" their sugar so they don't get the high up and downs as much or as quickly as they did without taking it....look for a good quality brand....also the study that found this was diabetic eating apple pie with loads of cinnamon did not spike and that started the quest as to why....it was isolated as the cinnamon..

I would not know a good quality brand from a bad brand. My Fred Meyer (Kroger) store had one brand (forgot the name). Any recommendations?

I have bought Nature Made, Natures Bounty....several different brands...read the label ...cinnamon should be the only ingredient! if it isn't don't buy it!
I have DM'd several people but seeing you and others are asking....I sprinkle cinnamon on my coffee, tea's, ice cream (when i do have it) add it to baked goods, etc...I also am experimenting with Truvia, Stavia and other natural sweetners but haven't found one that doesn't have a nasty taste so I still use "RAW" sugar...it doesn't shoot the highs like the white refined sugar.

I have seen a lot with added Chromium - so, those would not be desirable? Why? They say it's even better together, helps to loose weight even...

As far as for sweeteners, please, share with us when you find the one you like! (I think Splenda tastes pretty good, but it's up to my mom to "approve" it)

Chromium works to increase the efficiency of insulin to optimal levels....Type I are not producing insulin that is why they are diabetic, Type II are erratic at producing insulin so...have not found any studies that suggest use of this for Diabetics....I prefer the 100% cinnamon...
