My husband will be out of the army on July 21st. We just found out about a week ago and I've been searching desperately for a ferry to transport us from Alaska to Washington. I don't care from where in Alaska and I don't care where to in Washington - the army is paying for it. I've been searching for days with no luck - I'm trying to find a ferry (or a few) to get us 2 and our car home. That's it. Shouldn't be that complicated but as you can see I'm getting frustrated. If anyone has any ideas or suggestions, I would be most grateful. Thank you

Sahara

P.S. We don't have passports and have no time to get them before he's out, so Canada is out of the question.

I've always found the ferry schedule a bit of a pain to read... You can also try calling the Alaska Marine Highway directly.
The Kennicott leaves Whittier on the 25th of July and arrives in Bellingham, Washington on the 30th. If you miss that one, the next on doesn't go until the 8th of August.

I'd suggest calling the Ferry System as well. They have always been more then helpful.
If flying not an option? If the Army is paying for it, fly down and have your cars shipped.
