I don't like the idea myself one of the great things I liked about Alaska was the open feel of the neighborhoods. We only lived in town in Eagle River for a couple years before we moved out into the (what was) wooded areas around upper fire lake (we called them fireweed lakes).

I want to come back up there but to get away from the standard of live the -48 has to offer.

Yeah but Anchorage is nothing like ALASKA

I think it sounds pretty cool, but I have always been drawn to this sort of semi-shared model. I don't want roommates, but I despise the feeling of living completely alone, too.
