I live outside Homer at 1000 ft. and your video is just like it is up here now. Along with the rain it is a good day to stay inside.

Yep, this is getting ridiculous. For a while I thought things were quieting down, but now it's picking back up again.

We get wind down here like that just about every time a storm comes in from the gulf... nothing between us and the gulf to stop it or slow it down... Winds coming from the ocean side of things can be bad because there is nothing to slow it down so it just keeps building speed...

Same thing happened down here last week - just signals the changing jet-stream for winter is all - happens every year down here. 60 - 70 winds are pretty common for us when a storm comes in.

A few images of this lastest storm hitting SouthCentral. If that doesn't look like a hurricane, I don't know what does!

That is Typhoon Sanba.

It appears that Typhoon Jelawat may also head in our direction. It is currently about 200 miles east of Taiwan heading northeast toward Okinawa. It should hit Okinawa tomorrow, and hit mainland Japan by Sunday. If it maintains the same course and speed, it will reach the Aleutians by Tuesday and western mainland Alaska by Wednesday next week. They are saying that by the time it reaches mainland Japan it should be only a Category 1 typhoon. It should continue to lose power by the time it reaches Alaska.

Oh great. Yeah, I heard the weather dude mention there was another set of storms on the horizon. Maybe that's what he's thinking. So we get some snow this weekend, then back to the Monsoons next week! Maybe everyone in Seward better get busy building their Ark!
