Keep up. Your snarky little retort is more than one year too late.

Apparently there are turtles in Anchorage, but they are considered an invasive species:

"In the past few years, officials have documented largemouth bass in Sand Lake in Anchorage, crayfish in Kodiak, northern pike around Southcentral Alaska and red-ear slider turtles in Anchorage lakes and creeks."

There are lots of turtles in Minnesota. It not uncommon for it to be warmer in Anchorage than in Minnesota in the winter. May a small portion of the state can support fresh water turtles.

Dang, just realized op was a year ago.

Can we at least hunt the invasive turtles? Seems more efficient and cheaper than wildlife biologists trying to deal with the problem. Alaskans should have them all hunted down in less than a week.

There's also scary invasive goldfish overtaking an Anchorage pond from people releasing their aquarium goldfish into the wild. Biologists are upset and want them removed. The residents of Anchorage are just happy its goldfish floating around in the pond and not another body.
