I found out that a coastal rainy climate just isn't for me.

There's a Safeway and what is known as a Sav-U-Mor...they buy Costco groceries and dry goods. Another general merchandise/True Value hardware store (sort of a small Fred Meyer), Spenard building supply, couple of auto parts stores, lots of art galleries, RV parking, campground, nice beaches. Not sure how grocery prices compare to s 48....haven't shopped down south in decades. Yes, there's internet, including wireless available at some local lodges/hotels and the Homer bookstore. You can also use terminals at the pleasant public library with a card. Off season there are only a few places to eat and few attractions, but in summer a lot more is open including all the touristy shops and charter services on the Spit. The farmer's market is a ghost of itself in winter, but in summer very active.

Yeah I read they have a Safeway. Just wondering what a gallon of milk costs. And a six pack of beer.
No. There is a MacDonald's. Look, if you are going to come here, you are going to have to pay whatever the current prices are for milk and beer. Why agonize over it now? It certainly isn't the bush.

No, but it was grey and rainy enough for me! The sunny nice days are magical though.
