Evening..Has anyone remodeled and existing garage to incorporate a room addition? We are looking to increase our square footage keeping costs down by not having to add a new roof and foundation to our existing home. There would still be some challenges I assume in lowering the existing garage ceiling {that is high} and creating new access for room and home entrance that is on an upper level. Garage is on a large slab with a concrete cinder block foundation that appears to be very capable of withstanding extra materials weight however I am not an engineer. Probably would have to add a sky light and window that I can see..I have attached a photo...garage is considered attached due to breezeway roof line. Any suggestions or experiences with like projects would be appreciated. Thanks..

One thing for sure is that the inconvenience factor would be more favorable if we choose the garage.

We have a huge later built - 60s or 70s three car garage addition. Thinking of doing the same. Great place for guests and our kids when they are just starting out.
